About
I'm a systems administrator and cloud security professional working within the U.S. Army's CECOM ASIC organization. My day-to-day sits at the intersection of Azure cloud operations, cybersecurity compliance, and infrastructure engineering — managing real workloads in IL4/IL5 environments where the margin for error is low and the stakes are real.
Over the last few years I've owned patch management strategies, built observability tooling, led ATO processes, and most recently stepped into a primary system administrator role on a significant Azure deployment. I'm currently transitioning into a dedicated Azure Administration position.
I approach problems practically — I care about understanding why something works, not just that it does. That tends to make me useful in ambiguous situations and good at explaining complex things to people who need the context without the jargon.
Experience
Acting as primary system administrator on a major Azure deployment within a DoD IL4/IL5 environment. Responsible for resource management, access controls, security posture monitoring, and compliance alignment across the tenant. Transitioning into a dedicated Azure Administration branch role.
Built an Azure Observability Dashboard to surface security signals across the environment. Managed Azure Defender alerting, developed internal training to scale cloud best practices, and drove tooling adoption across GitLab and Jira for cross-team collaboration.
Assessed risk and security posture for systems seeking Authority to Operate. Drove remediation workflows using SCAP Checker, Vulnerator, and eMASS. Produced clean, actionable security documentation and reports for leadership and compliance stakeholders.
Managed patching strategies and compliance checks across Army systems using ACAS and STIG Viewer. Provided service desk support and implemented proactive system monitoring with Zabbix, reducing reactive incidents through better visibility.
